Patients with facial asymmetry, or facial skeletal hypoplasia (lack of bony development), may benefit from skeletal augmentation.  Most often this is in the form of cheek or chin implants.  This type of surgery can have a dramatic effect on a patient's appearance.  Patients who complain of a "weak" chin can expect a significant improvement in chin projection as well as an improved chin/neck angle.  Patients who are dissatisfied with their cheekbone contour can expect improved cheekbone highlights and projection with cheek implants.
